The defibrillator is loosely modelled on the 'Lifepak' series of defibrillators. It must be connected to the patient monitor (by selecting ECG as a viewable parameter on the patient monitor). Then, to use it:
1. Turn it on.
2. Select the energy required for defibrillation by clicking on the <Energy> button.
3. Charge the capacitor by clicking the <Charge> button.
4. When the charge is available, defibrillate using the <Defibrillate> button.
The defibrillator delivers a monophasic current and, depending on the energy selected and arrhythmia present, the shock may or may not be successful.
